Healthcare has become incredibly complex in recent decades, and ever more costly. To address the most sophisticated, highly technical aspects of healthcare, Northeast Health System collaborates and partners with leading area teaching hospitals, research facilities, specialty hospitals, and diagnostic centers, all of which perform important complementary functions.
It would be impossible for Northeast Health System to replicate the highly specialized and costly resources already available in Boston’s renowned teaching hospitals. Instead, we have forged relationships with Children’s Hospital Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital, the Lahey Clinic, New England Medical Center, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Through these associations we provide ready access to highly specialized services for our patients. In several instances, we are able to include sub-specialists from these organizations as a part of the local patient care team within our own facilities. It is an approach that makes both good care and good sense.
Local access to care remains the paramount value. Our local facilities can offer all but the most complex forms of treatment. We are able to address at least 85% of our patients’ needs here, with quality care, in our own facilities, close to home.
Northeast Health System affiliates are headquartered on campuses in Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, Lynn and Salem and comprise one of the most respected healthcare organizations in Massachusetts. As one of the major employers (with annual payrolls of about $120 million representing some 5,000 jobs) and purchasers of many millions of dollars in products and services, Northeast Health System makes a positive contribution to the North Shore’s economy.
